Director of the Center for Social Activism

The position is a replacement for maternity leave and is full time as of April.
The center for Social Activism works within The Merkaz YJ Impact! Hadassah, a unique combination of an absorption, community and activism center
for young English speaking olim and tourists, between the ages of 19-40.The center strives to create a platform for these olim and tourists to get
acclimated into Israeli society through social action, volunteering and help in the aliyah process.
The Job entails managing the activism center which includes Project Shinui, as volunteer placement program and the Aliyah info center.
Further more, the job entails working with volunteers, building and accompanying volunteers with social action projects,
PR and fund raising for the various projects and the Merkaz

Fluent in English and Hebrew

The position is of 20 hours a week (and will be full time from April)
Project Shinui, serves as a volunteer clearinghouse through which qualified volunteers are matched with Israeli social change organizations.
It is an opportunity to help promote democracy, equality, and social justice.
The Job entails placing volunteers both from outside and within Israel, in Social Change organizations. Contains meetings with volunteers,
organizations, building sessions, administrative work, processing and telephone.
Furthermore, the position requires the building of events and activities that relate to Social Change and volunteerism.

Tel Aviv Community Coordinator – The Shcuna
Job Description:
Creating a vibrant active community of young olim in Tel Aviv
Recruiting new volunteers and working with existing ones
Identifying the social needs of the community and working to provide them
Providing the community with social events
Organizing social change projects
Representing The Merkaz in Tel Aviv
Cooperating with other organizations to give young olim the services they need
This is a half time job (up to 30 hours a week).
The job includes event planning, public relations and advertising, activating volunteers and some administrative work.
Requirements:
English as mother tongue
Fluent Hebrew
Willingness to work flexible hours
Devotion to issues of olim and aliyah
Ability to work independently
