Cast Lead

During the recent operation "Cast Lead" in Gaza,

Young Judaea participants were involved in many different ways.

In the Building in Jerusalem we hosted families on a permanent basis from the south and our participants had the opportunity to run creative activities with the young children at night.

So to for three nights when several disabled people were brought from the south to Jerusalem to get out of the bomb shelters, our participants held activities with them.

Due to the situation in the country Young Judaea organized together with "Sarel" from the IDF for our participants to volunteer in basis around the country. Hundreds of participants received their green uniforms and went to work packing equipment and supplies needed for the soldiers in the south and filling many other roles in order to free up soldiers with other immediate and critical tasks.

Another form of action was hitting the streets and collecting money for Agudat Leman Hahayal, a branch of the army which gives many gifts and vital equipment to the soldiers at the front, more then a thousand shekels were raised.

Participants from our programs gained much from this experience and were grateful to be able to be in Israel at such a time and be able to help in some way both on the home front and the IDF.
